Matt Garrison

Co-Founder, South Street Capital and R2 Companies

Matt has worked as a founder, partner and investor in a series of real estate partnerships, including residential, multi-family, retail, development and debt, and Co-Founded South Street Capital (“SSC”) in 2007 and R2 Companies in 2014. Matt began investing in real estate in 2001, investing his own capital in small projects in Chicago and elsewhere, which led to the formation of SSC. SSC successfully navigated the 2009 market correction, executing over 100 million dollars in opportunistic investments. 

Since 2012, SSC has created an institutional quality loft-office portfolio of approximately 1M+ square feet in Chicago and Minneapolis. Matt has developed a 10+ year track record across the real estate cycle of protecting capital and developing and executing creative, contrarian and unique real estate strategies. His prior experience includes managing over $300 million in development projects and ranking as the #1 Coldwell Banker agent worldwide in units sold. Matt graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
