SmartWorlds is back and it's a perfect fit for our new home!

Last week, inaugurating our new exhibit space and broadcast studio, BuiltWorlds launched a separate, three-part track within SmartWorlds on Alternative Project Delivery (APD) and P3 Infrastructure. An expert panel and engaged, inquisitive audience made the evening event, held Feb 18, both memorable and informative. Above, view highlights from the presentations and interviews assembled by our ace BW Video production team. 

Aconex USA regional director Jeremy Shulman, ably moderated the discussion, which featured: Rick Adcock, managing director of MWH Infrastructure Development; Jessica Platko, associate director of global construction and infrastructure with Aon, and Peter Skosey, EVP with Chicago's Metropolitan Planning Council.

This night focused on public-private partnerships (P3s) as just one means to an end for financing the towering backlog of long-overdue infrastructure projects while still limiting the financial risk exposure for taxpayers. Said Adcock, “The bottom line is, there’s plenty of capital out there to meet the nation’s infrastructure needs. That’s the good news. The not so good news is [we] haven’t gotten it together yet.”

Our goal is to spread that good news and to help all of us "get it together" sooner than later. So save the date for our next installment on this track, APD/P3 Infrastructure - Part 2, coming May 5.
