WATCH: Drones, 3D Printing, And Connected Tools Stand Guard Over Crowd

All too often we hear the expression "the future is now," only to find it isn't. At our recent Tech Toy Test Drive, presented during the Mechanical Contractors Association of America Student Summit in Cleveland in early October, we made good on the adage by showcasing tools of the future...well before some hit the market.

Drones, connected tools, 3D printing and a pioneering augmented reality safety helmet were on display for a captivated audience of three hundred students and industry professionals. Once the crowd wrapped their minds around the abilities of what these revolutionary technologies have the chance to do in the field, they had the chance to wrap their hands around them and take them for a test drive.

Joining us that evening for our revelatory presentation were:

Milwaukee Tool -  Steve Matson

  • One-Key to unlock the digital jobsite;

MasterGraphics - Kevin Carr

  • 3D scanning, for projects purposes, both big and small;

Lift Technologies - Andrew Dennison

  • Drones overhead in the built environment, your project helpers in the sky;

GuardHat - Gerrit Reepmeyer

  • A groundbreaking solution that aims to transform industrial safety in the field.
