Meta brings us one step closer to augmented reality in construction

Augmented reality describes the superimposition of the virtual world onto the actual world.  Today, this is currently being accomplished with high-tech goggles akin to the virtual reality offerings of Google and Oculus.  Emerging from the augmented reality market is Meta with their Meta 1.0 Development Kit now available for pre-order.  Within the AEC, disruption potential is incalculable with this product.  Superimpose 3D designs onto 2D drawings, visualize future projects before the ground has even broken, map out work sequences, anticipate safety hazards, plan around jobsite hurdles and more.  Imagine the possibilities of augmented reality by checking out Meta's video below.
