Roundtable Event Recap

Roundtable Event Recap

At Burnham Works’ inaugural round table meeting - held at their West Loop Chicago office on July 24, 2014 - industry leaders from across the built environment arena arrived to discuss industry deficiencies and market opportunities.  Burnham Works primarily hosts these meetings to learn at the corporate level why the industry is slow to adapt to new technology and what can we be done to overcome ongoing obstacles.

This particular round table meeting, which focused mainly on the difficulties surrounding integrated project delivery (IPD) and lean practices, dominated most of the day’s discussions.  With involvement from CEOs and principals from the likes of Graycor, Navistar, Mid States Concrete, Berglund Construction and others, IPD application experience is not hard to find.  With combined experience of over 100 years sitting together, every member had valuable information and a fresh perspective to share.  It’s Burnham Works belief that an industry with an open forum of information exchange is an industry that is quick to adapt to new processes, more willing to adopt new technology and more willing to part with crippling waste.  Only together can we become smarter, faster and cheaper.
