When 3D Laser Scanning Meets 3D Printing

by TODD STOLARSKI | Nov. 28, 2015

When we launched our research division at BuiltWorlds this month, it was no coincidence that we first covered UAVs and 3D Laser scanning. Both are evolving technologies currently gaining a stronger foothold in the field.

While 3D Laser scanning has been utilized for years, over the last 18 months it has gone through a rapid technological explosion. Two recognized experts in 3D scanning are Kevin Bredeson, Pepper Construction’s director of virtual construction and Kevin Carr, general manager at MasterGraphics, a provider of myriad CAD solutions with a unit, Studio MGI, dedicated just to 3D applications for the built environment.
